Nicki Minaj to Drop 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' on Valentine's Day
Nicki Minaj, just named Billboard's Rising Star for 2011, announced on Tuesday night (Nov. 22) that she'll release an album on Feb. 14, titled "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded."
"Heeeee's baaaacccckkkkk," she wrote on Twitter, referring to her alter ego Roman Zolanski. "Its not called Roman Reloaded. Its called PINK FRIDAY : ROMAN RELOADED!!!!!! 4 WORDS!!!! Love u guys soooo much!!! VALENTINES DAY biittcchh!"

Minaj broke the news on the 1-year anniversary of the release of her history making debut album, "Pink Friday." She made no reference to whether "Roman" is just a revamped version of "Pink" or a collection of all new material, but it's no secret the rapper is in the studio.

Cash Money co-CEO and founder Brian "Birdman" W! illiams got the ball rolling on new album talk in an interview with Billboard this week. He told us the label was aiming to release her sophomore album in early 2012.
"Nicki's back in the studio, so we're looking to drop Nicki in the first quarter," he said, adding that a first single could drop this year. "We're really thinking it out. But she's in the studio, and we're looking real soon, because she's ready to go and we're ready to go with her."
On Wednesday, Billboard announced Minaj will be given the Rising Star Award at the upcoming Women in Music Event on Dec. 2. "Pink Friday" helped her become the first female rapper in a decade to top the Billboard 200. Her mega-single, "Super Bass," became a viral sensation and the song reached No. 3 on the Hot 100. The debut album has yielded a record eight singles and has gone on to sell 1.6 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
