President Obama Weighs In On Mariah Carey & Nicki Minaj's American Idol Feud

President Barack Obama might be in the midst of his own battle as he runs for re-election, but he's also chiming in on another struggle for power - the Mariah Carey/Nicki Minaj "American Idol" feud.

The President recently called into Michael Yo's "The Yo Show," where he explained he believes the reported warring divas will find peace.

"I think they are going to be able to sort it out, I am confident," Obama said. "I'm all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they're moving forward and not going backwards."

When it came for Obama to declare himself either Team Nicki or Team Mariah, the President skillfully didn't take sides.

"Mariah, she's done some events for us, I've gotten to know [her] and [husband] Nick [Cannon] and she's a wonderful lady," he said. "Nicki, I don't know, but I've got her on my iPod."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, "Idol" producers insist that there is not a feud going on between the fellow judges.

"This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we've ever had," producers said in a statement released to Access Hollywood earlier this month. "We love and support all of the judges and the fantastic work they are doing, and we can't imagi! ne a better group to find the next 'American Idol.'

"Despite all the accusations and media speculation -- much of which is inaccurate -- production is going extremely well today and the judges are focused on finding the best talent here in Baton Rouge," the statement concluded.
