Nicki Minaj: 'Beyonce Gave Me Inspiration To Do Pepsi Advert'

Rapper Nicki Minaj has revealed that pop queen Beyonce inspired her to work with Pepsi.

The 'Starships' singer has been signed up to the soft drink's latest global campaign and stars in a new advert that features a remix of her global hit 'Moment 4 Life.'

Minaj in a behind-the-scenes clip from the Pepsi shoot,

"Out of the people that have done something with Pepsi, I think I was probably the most influenced by the Beyonce commerical."

"I felt like this is a young black girl, early on in her career and she's doing something so iconic and I never thought in a billion years that Pepsi would reach out to someone like me."

Fans of the petite star will be pleased to know that this commerical is one of two projects Minaj has landed with the company. Later on in the year, she is reportedly set to unveil her own beverage named 'Pop' under the Pepsi brand.

Minaj follows in the footsteps of Michael Jackson, Kanye West, and Mariah Carey who have also endorsed the product. More recently, Katy Perry and Joe Jonas have also signed deals with Pepsi to appear in the global 2012 campaign.
