Nicki Minaj, Starships and Swimsuits: Watch Her New Video

Starships are meant to fly. As for Nicki Minaj, she apparently means to give us the most bonkers music video experiences possible, and the latest -- her clip for the RedOne-produced "Starships" -- has officially landed, going live on Vevo last night.

Directed by Anthony Mandler, "Starships" is a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue shoot for the Barbz and the weirdos. Opening with some of those titular flying machines, Minaj beams herself down to the Hawaiian shore. Hologram Tupac could never fill out a bikini like this, and after two minutes of booty-popping in the sand and surf with a few dozen male models in loincloths and bowler hats (sun-safety first!), the scene twists and we're tossed into a kaleidoscopic, black-light beach party. If Lisa Frank ever got sunstroke at a clam bake, this would be her reality.

Minaj told UK pop station Capital FM that there was a small delay releasing the "Starships" video due to editing, though she still described the final cut as being "maybe too saucy for TV." (MTV aired it last night, so all her day-glo junk apparently passed their censors.)
