Nicki Minaj - Nicki Minaj Heads Home For 'pound The Alarm' Video Shoot
Nicki Minaj has headed back to her homeland for the video for latest single 'Pound The Alarm', which was released online on July 31st.
The Trinidadian-born pop star took to the Caribbean island to shoot scenes that involve her flaunting her famous figure in a teeny bikini on white sand beaches, before donning a variety of massive and multi-coloured feathers on her back with a group of native women during a street parade.
The video is one patriotic waving of the Trinidad and Tobago flag, with the island's capital Port of Spain as much the star as Minaj's sizeable posterior is. Trinidadian artists such as Machel Montano and Bunji Garlin also make an appearance and Minaj is said to have been very well received when she arrived in her home nation.
Though it is less than two weeks old, the video has racked up an impressive 10.5 million views already on Youtube, with the single itself already doing the rounds on the club circuit and in the charts.
Minaj has long championed her proud patronage, and the singer clearly showed that she is as much a Trinidadian as she is an American. She was initially born on the Caribbean state before moving to Queens, New York when she was still young, being brought up in the New York district.
