Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey clashing on American Idol

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are reportedly already battling it out to land the crown of top diva on this years American Idol. The judging panel was officially announced yesterday. Nicki and Mariah will join old hand Randy Jackson and Keith Urban for the 12th series of the show.

Top table squabbles

Its reported that thesingers are already clashing as both are vying to see who can be the most vocal on the show. The pair are the only two women on the judging panel and naturally there was going to some competition but with those two huge personalities, this could get very interesting.

The situation started to get interesting at the first recording of the show yesterday where Mariah was reportedly talking over Nicki.

The Super Bass singer was giving her opinion on one of the acts however 42-year-old Mariah was keen to get her views across and apparently cut across the 29-year-old numerous times.

Who will steal the diva crown?

When asked about how the first day of judging had gone,Nicki replied that, It was...interesting... with a source from inside the show claiming that these girls just don't like each other.

Prior to Nicki officially signing up to the show, Mariah was rumoured to be unhappy about the Starships singer joining the panel. Reports even went as far to say that she hung up on the shows producers after they told her that Nicki had landed the role.

Looks like there could be a war brewing. No matter how many happy pictures Mariah tweets.
