Nicki Minaj responds to Republican endorsement, praises Obama via Twitter
Nicki Minaj has finally come forward to confirm that her alleged support for Republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, was a case of sheer sarcasm.
A week ago Minaj shocked fans after a newly released song, Mercy revealed the Starship singer proclaiming:
Im a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy b*****s is f***ing up the economy.
Her Twitter followers went crazy trying to figure out if the endorsement was real or a simple line from a song.
On Monday, Minaj took to twitter to put all questions to rest. She wrote:
Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do... *sends love & support* @BarackObama.
The tweet comes after Obama spoke of the song during a radio interview. The interview was heard on Power 95.3 where he was asked about the newest hit song which features Minaj and Little Shawn. The president replied:
I'm not sure that is actually what happened. I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that.
"But, she likes to play different characters. So I don't know what's going on there."
Later, Minaj also gleefully tweeted:
Awesome! Now I can tell my grandchildren that the 1st black President of the United States took the time to address a Nicki Minaj question.
Her followers have since gone wild at the recognition her lyrics have gotten from the President of the United States.
