Young Money star Nicki Minaj continues to build her profile by officially hooking up with Aftermath Records boss Dr. Dre for a new Beats By Dre launch.
The unexpected news splattered across the Internet Thursday (April 4) night.
Dr. Dre revolutionized the headphones industry when he launched Beats by Dr. Dre in 2008 and now the rap impresario is set to do it again with his Beats By Dr. Dre Pill Speaker.Lending a hand (or an ear, as the case were) is Nicki Minaj, who fronts a special Pretty in Pink edition of the portable Bluetooth speaker and ETonline is proud to bring you the exclusive first look at over 2 minutes of behind the scenes footage from her commercial! The self-proclaimed Barbie also confirmed the new business opportunity in a statement.
"I am so excited about this product. It's something I actually use. It's a little tiny speaker that I can travel with yet the sound is incredibly loud and rich," Nicki Minaj said in a statement. "I knew the Barbz would not only love it, but that they'd want it in! pink! So, here ya go barbz!!!! My PINK PILL!" (Statement)
Last September, Minaj's Young Money boss Lil Wayne hooked up with Dre in celebration of his own Beats headphones line.
After ripping the stage with 2 Chainz at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, Lil' Wayne hosted the launch of his Beats Pro headphones at the Playhouse nightclub in Los Angeles on Thursday night. Many heavy hitters graced the red carpet including Dr. Dre, Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, Wiz Khalifa, A-Trak, DJ Drama, French Montana, Machine Gun Kelly, LMFAO's SkyBlu, DJ Stevie J, and more. Shortly following the VMAs, Lil' Wayne released the song he performed "No Worries" in its mastered quality on iTunes. Recently, Nicki hinted at making a strong return to the big screen.
"I may be working on something right now. I can't really say too much about it, but I definitely have the acting bug," Nicki told MTV News correspondent Christina Garibaldi from a Burbank, California, recording studio, right after the premiere of her "High School" music video.
