A few years back, she actually spit rhymes that she wrote on her own (no ghostwriter needed) to get Lil Wayne to notice her. Now, after her controversy Grammy Award performance that left music heads confused when it comes to her status as a hip hop artist, some footage of the Old Nicki have surfaced. The unreleased footage, from the Come Up DVD era, shows Nicki spitting lyrics like one of the boys while rocking a newsboy hat and sporting long nails.
She also admirably compares herself to Lil Kim and Foxy:
Name a girl as real as her. Nope, not dem. Whos your best MCs? Nick, Fox and Kim.
Nicki sure has made a come up since those days. But is it really the old Nicki we want back?
