Nicki Minaj - Nicki Minaj Thrilled Over New Barbie Doll

Nicki Minaj has revealed that she is over the moon over the fact that toy company Mattel have crafted a Barbie Doll in her likeness. Talking to Billboard, Nicki Minaj declared that it was a 'major moment' for both her career and for her fans whom she refers to as 'Barbies'.

According to Billboard, Minaj stated: 'It's just a one of a kind, limited edition for charity, and so I never thought Mattel would even pay attention to me. For me this is a very major moment, because it just shows that you can come from nothing and still be a force in the main world, a business woman, and hopefully a mogul one day.' The doll, which features Minaj's signature hair and sparkly outfits, will be a one-of-a-kind model that will be auctioned at Charitybuzz.com on Wednesday (7 Dec 2011), and will start at $1000. All the money will go to Project Angel Food which helps those affected by HIV and AIDS. Barbie spokesperson Stefani Yocky said: 'Barbie is obviously a pop culture icon. She's been in the spotlight for over 50 years, and strikes that chord with girls of all ages in terms of being representative of the times. And Nicki is a big part of pop culture and also huge within the fashion industry, as well as a big Barbie fan'.

Nicki Minaj is recently celebrating her Grammy nomination for 'Rising Star'. She is currently working on her sophomore album 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded', due for release in February next year.
