Nicki Minaj's 'Stupid H*e' Heats Up Lil Kim Tension Speculation, "She The Queen When She Looking Like Lab Rat" [Audio]
Tensions between Nicki Minaj and rap veteran Lil Kim may be heating up as speculation has developed around the self-proclaimed Barbie's new "Stupid H*e" single.
While nothing has been confirmed, close examinations of Nicki's lines hint at the track possibly being a subliminal diss.
Two weeks after dropping "Roman in Moscow," the first single off "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" (Feb. 14), Nicki Minaj's alter ego Roman Zolanski returns to fires shots on her newest song, " Stupid Hoe." "B*tch talkin' she the queen when she looking like lab rat," Minaj raps in the beginning of "Stupid Hoe." Is Minaj talking about Lil Kim, also known as the Queen Bee? The shots carry throughout the song, as Minaj transitions from rhyming to singing and back again, "Stupid hoe is my enemy/ Stupid hoe is so wack/ Stupid hoe should have be-friended/ Then she could have probably came back." Sonically, the new track sounds quite similar to "I Get Crazy," a cut off Minaj's last mixtape, "Beam Me Up Scotty." (The Juice)
Last week, R&B veteran Mary J. Blige said she hoped both emcees would stop feuding with one another.
"Kim is my friend and I love and respect Nicki," Blige said in an interview. "I got to know the young lady and she's a sweetheart. ... It's the crews [fueling it.] It's the people behind the whole thing. Maybe one day it will happen. I'm hoping. We just all got to think positive. Everyone is just thinking so negative about it and everyone is in it, but if a bunch of people would say, 'Yo, stop this and let's help these girls do something together or to see the light.'" (WGCI)
In March, K im blamed Minaj's decision to swagger jack her style for sparking the beef.
"This is the thing: It's just, it's really, like, at the end of the day, I do what I have to do, and I'm gonna keep doing what I have to do," Kim said in an interview. "I'm gonna do me. They're the ones that brought this about. It could have been that simple. But what they did was underestimate me. They thought I was gonna sit back and let them do what they were doing. I'm gonna let everybody know: I'm on my Hollywood sophisticated, but I'll bring it back if I have to. And that's in life. I can't help it. I'm G'd up from my feet up. If I have to handle my business, I'mma handle my business. And I have to fight for my fans." (MTV)
Earlier this year, Brooklyn rapper Foxy Brown questioned Kim's past issues with multiple female artists.
"Had [Kim] let the people say, 'Oh [Nicki], you're trying to be Kim, you're a fake Kim,' then it doesn't come directly from her," Foxy explained in an interview. "But when you're using that as a platform to bring your new album out, that's like, 'Oh my God, wait a minute.' I don't condone it at all; I don't think it's cute. Nicki clearly drew from both Kim and me. And she hasn't been disrespectful to me in any way -- I haven't heard her be disrespectful toward anybody else but Kim. And at some point, it's like, O.K., Kim, you've had a problem with Foxy, you've had a problem with Nicki, you've had a problem with Faith [Evans], with Charli [Baltimore], with everybody. It's like, enough already. I choose to stay out of it. Put out great music, and that's that." (Billboard)
