Nickigate 2012 has now entered its third day, and neither side is showing any sign of relenting.

To recap: Nicki Minaj was scheduled to headline New York hip-hop station Hot 97s Summer Jam festival on Sunday night. That afternoon, Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg called her hit Starships bulls and not real hip-hop. Minajs label boss Lil Wayne then pulled his entire roster including Minaj, DJ Khaled, and Busta Rhymes from the lineup, leaving Nas and Lauryn Hill to take Nickis place.

Tweets were exchanged, and on Monday night, Minaj had a heated conversation with Hot 97 personality Funkmaster Flex that resolved nothing. On Tuesday, Hot 97 station manager Ebro Darden went on the air to explain the incident further, but didnt really illuminate what went on between the time Rosenberg said his piece and the time Minaj took off.

Which brings us back around to Rosenberg, who clarified his stance on his own show on Hot 97.

I need it be clear. I gave an opinion on a song, Rosenberg told his audience. And Nicki Minaj and Young Money decided to skip Summer Jam. Because of an opinion, not a personal attack, nothingderogatorybecause shes a woman. Thats why music is so mediocre nowadays, because no one can give opinions. If you give an opinion, cats hate you, their crew skips your concert, they diss you on Twitter, their boyfriends threaten to punch you in the face.

Rosenberg went on to explain that Mina! js boyfr iend did in fact threaten him via Twitter, of course and that he ultimately believes in what he said and that Minaj and the rest of her company completely overreacted. Shes had a lot of good moments. Starships aint one of them, and it represents the opposite of real hip-hop, he explained. Regardless of whether the time was good or not, the fact that she then pulled out and Young Money pulled out, means I will never apologize for that. Never.

So apparently this feud must continue, though its hard to tell where it will end. Hot 97 wasnt playing Starships all that often to begin with, and itll be interesting to see if any of the bad blood between the station and Young Money carries over to the promotion of Lil Waynes upcoming album I Am Not A Human Being 2.

Then again, Hot 97 is one outlet (albeit an influential one), so Weezy probably isnt sweating those non-spins of his new single too hard. In the meantime, Hot 97 announced that they will not be giving any refunds despite the fact that the biggest star advertised did not perform at the event further driving home that the true victims are the Minaj fans who schlepped out to a football stadium in New Jersey.
