Nicki Minaj is NZ bound

Colourful singer Nicki Minaj has announced she is coming to New Zealand.

The Starships singer Tweeted about a New Zealand show this morning among other international dates after a Kiwi fan asked her about a local show.

No official venue or ticket details have been confirmed.

It took only a month for Minaj's first album Pink Friday to be certified platinum after its US release. Her follow-up Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded was released in April.

The rapper/singer is known for her flamboyant outfits, ever-changing hairstyles and has a reputation for Diva-like behaviour.

She recently told People magazine: "[My dressing room] looks like something out of Aladdin. Pink flowers and candles, white rugs, couches covered in pink satin."

Last week at Scotland's T in the Park festival, she reportedly demanded the grass around her dressing room be cut shorter.

Minaj has also been rumoured to become an American Idol judge next season.
