Nicki Minaj arrives late to 'American Idol' live show

American Idol judge Nicki Minaj was unfashionably late for Wednesday evenings live performance where the top 10 singers took the stage. When the show kicked off, the Starship singer was nowhere to be found.

According to People, Ryan Seacrest began the show by saying, We are coming to you live and on time. When the applause subsided, Seacrest added, Keep that energy going for three of your four judges who are here tonight." The multi-talented host informed that Minaj was stuck in traffic and was set to get to the set any moment.

"I hear she's seven minutes out and there's some congestion on the 405She should be here momentarily. Still, the show must go on. Minaj, who is currently in her first season of judging, arrived during the commercial break, roughly 13 minutes later.

The singer turned judge has been debuting a new look as of late, showing off a more natural look as opposed to her normal bright makeup and false eye-lashes.

People notes that Minaj appeared in dark sunglasses and a hooded jacket, possibly attempting to hide that she had no makeup on at all, and had no time to prep backstage.
