Nicki Minaj wig guru Terrence Davidson to aid kids in metro Detroit
Stars like Nicki Minaj, Patti LaBelle and Jennifer Hudson have relied on hairstylist and wig creator Terrence Davidson for their fabulous locks. This week, the celebrity wig guru is using his expertise to help some kids in metro Detroit.
Davidson will appear Wednesday at a benefit for Wigs4Kids, a local nonprofit that provides wigs and support services to children and young adults facing hair loss from health challenges.
The event, which starts at 6 p.m. at Barrister Gardens in St. Clair Shores, will features a fashion show with 10 kids modeling wigs designed and donated by Davidson. There also will be musical entertainment and a strolling dinner for guests. Tickets are $30 for general admission ($40 for VIP seats) and are available at the door or online at www.wigs4kids.org.
Davidson, whose work has been seen on TV and in fashion magazines, was a recent guest on Ricki Lakes new daytime show. His decision to part ways with Minaj in January was covered online by the music and entertainment media.
It has been an amazing experience, offering me a chance to express my creativity and exhibit my love for the art form of wig design, he said at the time in a statement.
