Minaj denied entry into own party
Nicki Minaj was reportedly denied entry to her own album release party by police on Tuesday.
The Starships singer arrived to New York City's Greenhouse nightclub with her boyfriend and an entourage of 25 people at 3:30am, according to RadarOnline.
The website reports Minaj was denied access because the venue was already at capacity.
"There was nothing they could do to accommodate her," an eyewitness said, adding, "Nicki wasn't happy about it, so she and her group just left."
Rappers Fabolous and Flo Rida were also meant to attend the event. It was unclear if they were permitted access.
Tuesday night's party was held in celebration of Minaj's album The Re-Up, released earlier this month.
The re-release includes eight new tracks and seven songs from her album Roman Reloaded which was released earlier this year.
Minaj talked to US radio host Ryan Seacrest about the risks she took with the new record.
"It's a little of a different direction from the mainstream, but it's kind of more in the direction I originally started in," she said on Monday.
"I feel like the music is such a better representation of me where I am now as an artist in my career."
