Nicki Minaj Calls Steven Tyler a Racist: A Look at Her Other Big Feuds
Nicki Minaj is no stranger to finding controversy with her fellow celebrities. Former "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler is the latest star to draw Nicki's wrath. The rapper lashed out at Tyler on Twitter after the rocker made some negative comments about the current judging panel. She went so far as to suggest that the rocker was racist, writing "You assume that I wouldn't have liked Bob Dylan??? Why? Black? Rapper? What? Go f--- yourself and worry about yourself babe." Nicki later took a shot at Steven's career, tweeting "I understand you really wanted to keep your job, but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment." It has become customary for Nicki to feud with other stars, so this latest spat shouldn't come as a shock. Here is a look at some of her notable battles involving other celebs.
Lil' Kim
The two ladies have had an ongoing feud since 2010, which stems from Kim accusing Nicki of ripping off her image. After Kim made some insulting comments in public, Nicki accused her of being jealous of the younger star's success. In fact, she accused Kim of starting fights with any girl that threatens her power. "Every time you in the news, it's 'cause you gettin' at somebody," said Nicki in 2010. "Where's your music? Put your music out, and when I see your name on Billboard, that's when I'll respond to you. Other than that, goodbye. It's Barbie, bitch."
Mariah Carey
Nicki's battle with her fellow "Idol" judge has been well-documented. While filming the audition segments for the sho! w, video leaked of the two ladies exchanging words behind the scenes. Things got even worse when Mariah said that Nicki had threatened to shoot her. Nicki later said that she was reacting to "passive-aggressive" comments from Mariah, but denied that she ever mentioned anything about a gun. Nicki also poked fun at Mariah in one of her songs, which is a sure sign that she isn't letting this feud go.
Barbara Walters
Maybe "The View" star shouldn't have taken sides in the battle between Nicki and Mariah. When Barbara defended Mariah after seeing the video of the fight, Nicki accused her of never reaching out to hear her side. "Am I not good enough for you to get my side, 'cause I'm a little black girl that raps," said Nicki during her TV special. "So I guess I'm not good enough," she went on to say. "But I'm only good enough for you to tell people that I'm unpredictable when you don't f***ing know me!" For her part, Barbara said that she did attempt to reach out to Nicki's group.
