Nicki Minaj stays warm with English tea during UK video shoot

The 'Starships' singer was spotted working on the video in Dungeness, Kent in South East England - famous for its nuclear power plant - and the conditions were a lot more basic than the diva is used to.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Typically, this weekend was one of the coldest of the year, which didn't make for ideal shooting conditions.

"Poor Nicki was huddled up and shivering between takes but gamely got on with it all.

"She was warming-up between takes with endless cups of English tea."

Nicki was also forced to get her hands dirty when one of the trucks used in the production got stuck in a gravel pit and everyone was roped in to help pull it out.

The insider added: "As well as clever editing to remove the power station from certain beach shots, Dungeness has no luxury hotels, beach bars or casinos so the special effects team are having to pool all their resources.

"At one stage during filming on Sunday one of the crew trucks got stuck in the flooded gravel pits, and along with about 10 others, Nicki was roped in to helping heave it out.

"It wasn't glamorous, or pretty."
