POP MUSIC star Nicki Minaj lit up Times Square briefly, delighting hundreds of tourists with a surprise concert Friday night.
The Queens performer in a bright blond bouffant wig and a black lace minidress with a a white blouse underneath took the stage around 7:30 p.m. and belted out Starships from her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
Fans swarmed around the stage by the TKTS booth at 46th St. and Broadway to catch the show, organized to promote the release of the Nokia Lunia 900 touchscreen smartphone.
She is awesome, said Rachel Rosenbaum, 11, who was on vacation from Pittsburgh with her family. She has good nail polish and her hair is cool. I texted all my friends. Its very cool; I am very excited.
Minaj sang t! wo songs then jumped into a Cadillac SUV and drove off. The show lasted 15 minutes.
