Nicki Minaj quits Twitter after arguing with followers over leaked songs

Nicki Minaj is out of the Twitter game, for now at least.

The 29-year-old "Super Bass" rapper quit Twitter and deactivated her account, @NickiMinaj, which had 11 million followers, on April 15 after getting upset with her followers and a fansite called NickiDaily.com for allegedly leaking songs from her "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" album online.

"Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good [expletive] bye," Minaj wrote, according to the New York Daily News. "And that's exactly why I'm paying the barbz DUST right now! And deleting my twitter. Smdh -- don't cry 4 me argentina."

Prior to her statement, Minaj blocked the Twitter acc! ount of NickiDaily.com on the social networking site. The website now redirects to the url nicki-minaj.org.

Although Minaj deactivated her account, Twitter stipulates that the user's data, including Tweets and followers, are retained on their servers for 30 days before the information is permanently deleted, which means Minaj has a month to return to Twitter and keep her followers.

"Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," the rapper's sophomore album, was released on April 3 and the album debut in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. In February, Minaj's song from the album called "Marilyn Monroe" was leaked online. However, the source of the leak was unclear.
