Only two episodes into the new season ofAmerican Idolandthe big question is: has anyone tuned in for the actual singing? Or is this season solely going to focus on the over-hyped skirmish between new judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey? And longtime fans arent the only ones annoyed by the feuds airtime Nicki took to Twitter to air her grievances with the shows current format.
In her short time as American Idol judge, Nicki Minaj has learned a few important lessons. For example: when you get in an all-out f! ight with your costar and accuse her of being the f***ing highness, you can most certainly expect that the explosion will be aired on network television.
When news of Nickis rant first broke back in September, we automatically assumed that the moment would be captured early in the upcoming season ofAmerican Idol. But apparently, Nicki Minaj still doesnt really know how the show works, especially in the present age of waning ratings. The overarching rule is, anything and everything capable of gaining publicitywill be aired.
Still confused about the reality series willingness to show off epic judging battles, Nicki tweeted, Is Idol really gonna play themselves and show that shit? Smdh. Wow. For those of you not up on the current Twitter lingo, smdh stands for shaking my damn head.
Really though, if anyone should be shaking their damn heads, its Nickis fans and Twitter followers. How has their favorite rapper-singer not realized that her crazy rants are currentlyIdols cash cow? Of course theyll air them!
